Having a coach amplifies every aspect of your life, personally and professionally. Working with a coach enables you to realize your objectives and unlock your potential. The process of working with a coach increases accountability, insights, efficiencies and widens your perspective. It challenges you to stretch and grow in new and exciting ways. It is a highly personalized approach designed to develop the skills, resources and actions you need in order to fully realize your goals.
In 2009 Google’s Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt was asked the question, “What was the best advice you ever got?” His answer? “Get a coach. The one thing that people are never good at is seeing themselves as others see them. A coach really, really helps.”
I leverage my experience as a former Senior Human Resources Business Partner, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Coach to provide you with a distinct and valuable perspective. My solution focused approach, skillset and passion enable me to assist my clients to succeed and thrive. My method goes beyond correcting and resolving problems and behaviors. It is more about self-discovery, development and growth. This empowers the individual to effect change in themselves and their environment (e.g., their employees and the organization).
That depends on my client’s goals. Some of the areas for executive coaching include executive presence, managing change, motivating effective teams, influencing skills, communicating more effectively and managing conflict. I partner with my clients to build on their strengths, develop flexibility, change-readiness, to work more effectively with others and create awareness of areas for improvement. Areas of focus for Individual life coaching ranges from career and relationships to just getting your life back on track.
Coaches use tools and techniques that promote new ways of thinking and interacting with your environment. The role of the coach is to systemically explore specific concerns and opportunities that are central to the client’s (firm and/or individual) agreed upon goals. This is accomplished by providing a supportive environment, understanding the meaning of what my client says in the context of their values and goals, and asking powerful questions. I always evaluate whether my client is on track and taking action to reach their goal.
Each meeting is conducted in person or over the phone. You can expect honest feedback, clarifying questions, support and challenge. You can also expect confidentiality. In order for coaching to work well, I provide individuals with the confidential space to speak candidly about their goals, successes, frustrations, mistakes and possibilities. For executive coaching, I may use tools such as Myers-Briggs, DISC, or a 360 verbal assessment.
“A Coach is someone who tells you what you don’t want to hear, who has you see what you don’t want to see, so you can be who you have always known you could be.”
– Tom Landry
